A Message From Our CEO

My name is David Corzo Sánchez Ortiz.

In 2019, I was a student at Tecnologico de Monterrey when Mexico City declared a state of emergency. With hazardous air pollution levels and warnings not to spend time outdoors, there was no clear end to my hometown’s air quality woes.

That’s when I decided to take action. I created Clair as a self-led effort to solve one of the most critical issues not only here in Mexico but worldwide: rampant, unrestrained air pollution. Along with my partners, we devised a novel carbon capture solution for transportation to clean the air around them using biodynamic microalgae. Clair was ranked the #1 cleantech startup in Mexico and #2 in LATAM, according to ClimateLaunchpad 2021, and we’re currently on our financing seed round as we develop our prototype.

In 2022, we realized the urgency of sparking a worldwide conversation about real-time, actionable solutions to air pollution. Thus, ClairCon was born. Our first-ever conference in spring 2023 will bring more than 15 invited speakers at the top of the field together with hundreds of innovative change-makers and climate warriors in the audience.

It is my intention that ClairCon becomes the annual event that spurs action around climate change, helping companies and leaders reach their net-zero goals through innovative clean air best practices.
